The BH-9614-06 is a precision-cut 1/4" x 1" key that locks the pinion gear to the equalization shaft on Weaver lifts. This small but mighty component is responsible for transferring the rotational force from the shaft directly into the gear teeth. If the key shears or becomes loose, the shaft will spin without moving the gear, causing the lift to become un-synchronized and dangerous to use.
